Sean Cotter, Studio Manager

Sean Cotter was born in Toronto, Canada. In 1976 he moved to San Francisco, where he founded a publishing services company with his wife Nancy Warner.

By the mid-1980s he was also working as coordinator of Editcetera, an association of publishing professionals. He incorporated the organization as a non-profit and initiated a series of editorial workshops that are still going strong today.

In the 1990s he began a new career as a freelance technical writer for Apple and other high-tech companies, eventually taking an in-house job as the security writer for Netscape in 1997. He became product manager for the directory and security engineering team when it was purchased by Red Hat in 2004.

In 2006 Sean began working with Nancy again, helping to manage her growing photography business. He continues in that role today, while also working part-time for Pixar Animation Studios as a technical writer.
