Good Humus Donation Info

Good Humus prints by Nancy Warner are available individually or in groups of 6 notecards in exchange for a donation to the Good Humus Land Preservation Project.

This page describes how to make a donation and where the money will go. For more details about the project itself, see About the Good Humus Land Preservation Project.

Making a Donation

To make a donation and receive your notecards or prints, call Annie Main at (530) 787-3187. Some of the prints available can be viewed on this web site in the Good Humus gallery.

You can also donate directly to Equity Trust at this address:

Equity Trust, Inc.
P.O. Box 746
Turners Falls, MA 01376
equitytrust.org

If you're interested in receiving some notecards or prints, call Annie first.

Where Does the Money Go?

The money raised will go directly to Equity Trust, earmarked for the Good Humus Farm Preservation Project and is tax deductible.

Once the necessary $300,000 is raised, Equity Trust will purchase the easement from Annie and Jeff.

Annie and Jeff will then:

  • Retire the debt of about $200,000 they are currently carrying for their original land purchase, infrastructure, and improvements.
  • Pay all fees to make the easement a legal document.
  • Pay Equity Trust a monitoring endowment to oversee the easement in perpetuity.
  • If any additional money remains, it will be used to continue to build the infrastructure for agriculture education programs at Good Humus.

What Else Can I Do to Help?

  • Learn more about Good Humus and what Annie and Jeff are trying to do. Visit the Good Humus web site, Nancy Warner's Good Humus gallery, the Equity Trust web site, or call Jeff or Annie at (530) 787-3187.
  • Spread the word to other potential donors. The inkjet cards are a great way to do this!
  • Introduce Jeff and Annie to small family foundations or individuals you may know who may want to help preserve this beautiful productive land and farm permanently for the future and support and secure local sustainable agriculture. Help arrange a personal meeting.
  • Suggest venues for Annie and Jeff to speak about their project.
  • Contribute other fund-raising ideas.
